Shalom Academy is a ministry of the Fundamental Baptist Fellowship of Manipur, India, of which T. Jamthang is president. Shalom Academy educates students up to 10th grade. Chong Singsit and his sister, Phalkho, started the school in 1984, fulfilling the vision of their late father to teach the tribal people how to read so they could understand God’s Word and be saved.

Ministry Report of Shalom Academy – Chong Singsit

This year has been another rough year for Shalom Academy, mainly due to disunity in the leadership team. We began the year with high hopes for the new team that I personally interviewed and put together, not realizing the undercurrent of disunity was still alive and well. Our prayer at this point is to end the school year in about two months time with the existing leadership, and in anticipation of waiting on God’s direction in the coming year.

Here are specific pray requests for the school: Please pray for God to bring a team to lead the group for the next school year. Pray that the school will return to its original vision of reaching young people for Christ as was done for over 20 years. This vision is what has kept Shalom Academy in a unique position and set the school apart from any other school in the area. We have seen a number of Hindu teachers and students turn to Christ simply because we believed in God’s Word and were obedient to His command. The failure to carry out His mandate may be one of the root causes of disunity in the leadership team. Please pray that God will get a hold of hearts.

Ministry Report of the Fundamental Baptist Fellowship T. Jamthang

Since leaving my pastoral ministry in January 2012, the ministry has expanded considerably, and I have experienced God’s enabling power in my life as a traveling evangelist. The ministry is getting broader and covering a wider area with more villages to cover, making it practically difficult to travel with the available public transportation. In light of this, I would like to propose to supporting members to please pray with me for two-wheeler transportation.

On May 19, 13 students accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior as the result of preaching and counseling among the students. We conducted a special home crusade June 22–25, and three persons accepted the Lord Jesus Christ. On June 29—July 1 we had a revival crusade, and three persons accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior.
