In Congo, people in the city of Bulengo have been forced to abandon their villages of Masisi and Rutshuru following a war between the government army and M23 terrorists, says Safari Munyakazi, president of the Community of Free Baptist Churches in Congo.
Among those people are families who attend his association’s churches.
“Passing shelter by shelter, I met them in a very complicated life because they are always there without assistance and hope to return to their villages,” Safari says.
One of those displaced people, with tears in her eyes, told Safari, “Pastor, we are forced to live in misery in this site.”
Safari says he is “comforting them with the Word of God,” but they also need urgent physical help. He asks people to pray that he can “find the means to meet their needs, such as food, clothing, and medicine.”
